Vitamin D deficiency and preterm birth

This meta-analysis observational studies revealed that women with vitamin D deficiency (maternal serum level < 20 ng/mL) during pregnancy experienced a significantly increased risk of preterm birth.

The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy and its association with preterm birth have attracted much public health attention.
