Mothers may be able to shape the behavior of their children through adjusting the omega-3 fatty acid composition in human milk. Infants whose mothers’ milk with higher level of omega-3 fatty acids showed lower scores on the negative affectivity domain of the Infant Behavior Questionnaire (IBQ-R). This component of temperament is link to risk of internalizing disorders in later life.
