Human milk microbiota and mastitis

The report studied the impact of mastitis on human milk microbiota. Findings supported the hypothesis that women with mastitis have lower microbial diversity, enriched level of opportunistic pathogens and depletion of commensal obligate anaerobes.

This study reports the influence of mastitis on human milk microbiota by utilizing 16 S rRNA gene sequencing approach.
