Metabolic effects of BMOs on selected commensals

This study investigated the carbohydrate-dependent effects on the above selected commensals when fed with bovine milk oligosaccharides (BMOs) and/or lactose using mono- and co-cultures of three different bacterial species (Clostridium perfringens, Parabacteroides distasonis and Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum).
