This review article elucidated the influences of iodine on brain development and some disorders like lower intelligence quotients (IQ) or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) through summarizing available data from both animal and human studies.

Vitamin D deficiency and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)

Controversial data on vitamin D and its impact on gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) have been noted. A meta-analysis of 26 studies was performed and found that vitamin D deficiency may raise the risk of gestational diabetes.
